Turkey - Cartoon depicts Jews as seeking Middle East control

This cartoon was featured in the Arabic language, Turkish news site Akhbar Al Alam, a site that enjoys heavy readership across the Arab world, particularly in Iraq, the Palestinian Territories and Egypt.

The cartoon depicts US President Barack Obama as a waiter taking orders for a Jew, representing Israel. The caption reads “Obama: Jerusalem is the capital city of united Israel.”

In addition to portraying the classic antisemitic notion that major world powers take orders from Jews, this particular cartoon illustrates fears that Jews seek Jerusalem as the capital of a “greater Israel,” an Israel the includes the whole of the Arab world.
