Young vandals spray paint a swastika on memorial

Lichterfelde – Swastikas and radical statements were spray painted onto a memorial in Lichterfelde, a suburb of Berlin. The police spokeswoman said that the police discovered the graffiti on the Otto Lilienthal memorial on Friday night. Shortly before that time, the vandals  had evaded the policemen and gotten away.

According to the spokeswoman, a large swastika was spray painted onto the memorial, approximately 40 cm x 40 cm (15.5 inches x 15.5 inches) in size, and the word “Auschwitz” appeared in purple. The graffiti was immediately removed.
