Antisemitism in USA: billboards featuring an Israeli star torn
Georgia – Yaniv Moyal, whose picture appears on billboard ads of a gas company, discovered to his amazement that some of the billboards had been vandalized and the phrase “Jews and Israelis? Not in our school” was written on them.
The picture of Israeli actor Yaniv Moyal, who got a role in the movie “Mobster: a call for the New Order”, with Jake Gyllenhaal, Mickey Rourke, Leighton Meester and Andy Garcia, was taken for the gas giant SCANA campaign, as we reported to you about a month ago, and his face is shown on billboards in America.
But it seems that antisemitism is lifting its head, and there are those who don’t like the idea of an Israeli actor starring on billboards throughout the US.
About a week ago, shortly before Bibi’s speech in New York, the billboards in which Moyal’s picture appears were found in Georgia, USA, torn and vandalized, and carrying the inscription “Jews and Israelis? Not in our school”.
The advertising company of the Gas giant company was quick to remove the billboards and to replace them with new ones, in some of which Moyal does not appear. In addition, a complaint has been filed with the local police.
Moyal heard about the vandalism while he was staying at the filming site of a new movie: the agency that represents him reported the matter to him, and in the meantime, according to reports, he prefers not to deal with the issue.
Right now the question is whether antisemitism will blow the chances of Moyal, who is expected to star in the gas company’s new campaign alongside Paris Hilton.
Moyal, for whoever does not know him, is an Israeli actor who starred in the movie “Yossi and Jagger” and “Reds” and left Israel eight years ago. In Hollywood he has already played alongside Janet Jackson in Tyler Perry’s movie “Why Did I Get Married too?”
