Following the antisemitic attack: the acting mayor apologized to Rabbi Teichtel
Following the incident that happened the day before yesterday, during which antisemitic slanderous exclamations were shouted towards Jewish female students, Acting Mayor Klaus‑Dieter Gröhler conveyed to Rabbi Teichtel from Habad-Lubavitz his shock and sorrow about the incident.
Klaus‑Dieter Gröhler:
“I asked Rabbi Teichtel not to be deterred by such incidents from continuing to develop the Jewish life in Berlin. Jewish life is once again part of everyday life in Berlin – thank God. Anyone who does not accept this approach, puts himself at the fringe of society. Charlottenburg‑Wilmersdorf is the district with a great number of Jewish institutions and the majority of Berlin men and women live here. I say it explicitly: I am happy because of it and I hope Jewish life continues to flourish here.”
