Youngster shouted insults towards women in the swimming pool and sprayed them with tear gas

Stein – two women who were staying in the swimming pool in Stein were attacked Monday evening by a 23 years-old youngster who insulted them, sprayed tear gas at them and saluted with the Nazi salute – probably because one of the women was wearing the Star of David.

 

The suspect drew the attention of the two women (aged 47 and 48) while they were at the pool around 21:45, when he, together with his companion aged 31, made fun of them.

 

Near the dressing cabins one of the women met the suspect again. He saw that she was wearing the Star of David. The 23 years-old youngster, who according to the police is of Turkish-German origin, insulted her and saluted with the Nazi salute.

 

In the parking lot he attacked the two women and sprayed tear gas at them. They reported the incident in the parking lot to the pool employees. The women suffered burning sensation in their eyes and itching in the face. One of the life guards chased the two suspects. He arrested them in the parking lot and held them until the police arrived. The two suspects utilized their right to remain silent. The police are still checking the involvement of the 31 year old youngster in the incident.

 

The Fürth police investigation department is investigating the youngsters on suspicion of causing severe bodily injury, offending and using antisemitic signs.

 

The police informed our journalists that the victim is Jewish and that she did not wear the Star of David “just” as jewelry.
