Jewish center vadalized with hate message

Athens, GA - Someone vandalized the Chabad Jewish Center, 1491 S. Lumpkin St., by marking a storage room door with a hateful message and shutting off power to a freezer that caused kosher food valued at $900 to spoil, Athens-Clarke police said.

The damage was done while the center’s rabbi was out of town between June 21 and Wednesday, police said.

The graffiti included a derogatory comment against “ZOG,” an acronym for Zionist Occupation Government that is used by some antisemites.
