Jewish cemetery defaced
Anklam – unknown persons desecrated the night before Tuesday the Jewish cemetery in Anklam. 15 tombstones were smashed, as the police reported on Tuesday. According to the announcement, seven tombstones were detached from their bases and eight stones were torn from the ground and toppled upside down.
The office of the Attorney General in Anklam is conducting an investigation about disturbing the peace of the deceased (sic) and for vandalism. The police are looking for witnesses to the act.
