Twenty year old man made 1300 telephone calls of antisemitic nature or praising Mohammed Merah
Toulon - A young man aged 20 was arrested in Toulon on June 21 as part of an investigation into antisemitic telephone calls.
The Le Parisien reported that the man is suspected of making approximately 1300 telephone calls over the last four months, either of antisemitic nature or during which he praised the acts of Mohammed Merah "The Motorbike Murderer".
In addition, he is suspected of sending letters containing murder threats to the "Otzar HaTorah" school in Toulouse, where two Jewish children and a teacher were murdered by Merah last March, merely because they were Jewish.
He was arrested for "malicious calls" and "threats based on grounds of ethnicity or religious beliefs".
He was released and placed under legal supervision until his trial.
During his detention, the young man explained to the investigators that he is a member of an internet website by the name of "Viol-Vocal" which disseminates jokes of extremely bad taste.
In addition, he apparently said that he was unaware of the severity of his actions.
