Antisemitic act in the sixth borough
Marseilles – a resident of Avenue de Toulon, Mr. Samuel B. who was shocked, sent us the two following photos. The street signs of Rue de la Traverse du Cimetière des Juifs (the cross street of the Jews’ cemetery) in Marseille’s sixth arrondissement have been vandalized and brutally torn down. Of course this is not part of a remodeling carried out by the municipality or by the community in the city, but an act of vandalism intended to damage the name of the street which is filled with memories.
Of course, this is also an antisemitic act like the ones occurring on a daily basis. It should be mentioned that in the very same street another resident’s vehicle was totally vandalized after he had left in it in a prominent place a book by Eli Wiesel.
This is a very sad incident, but by no means accidental, and it makes us believe that the monster’s womb is still fertile, also ( and mainly) in Marseille, where the number of incidents like this one increases every year, in contrast to previous statistics.
