33 cases of Jewish cemeteries desecration
In the past year 33 attacks against Jewish cemeteries were carried out, probably motivated by antisemitism. This is the lowest number since 2000. These data were obtained from an answer of the federal government to the annual query of the Vice President of the Bundestag Petra Pau (from the Left). The police stated that most of the attacks on Jewish synagogues were carried out in the Nordrhein-Westfalen region. In Berlin and in four other states no cemetery was desecrated. From the answers to Pau it may be deduced that 3192 criminal actions originating from the extreme right were registered in the police in the first three months of the year, among which 122 were violent acts.
