Antisemitic remarks in the municipality
Bangolet – An employee of the municipality of Bangolet responsible for the subject of housing probable expressed some antisemitic remarks when Mrs. Miriam T., a French Jew came to her office to apply for housing.
She requested an explanation for the fact that the apartment that had been promised her was offered to another family.
The employee probably answered: “You are Jews, you have money, go to a real estate agency. If I wish, your file will stay at the bottom of the pile…” The victim, Mrs. Miriam T filed a complaint and the BNVCA (the national bureau watching against antisemitism) filed a civil suit as well.
