Cemetery vandalized by unknown persons
Harson - the act of arson at the Jewish cemetery in the City of Harson occurred on the most important festival in the Jewish calendar, the festival of Passover. As reported by the local media this further case of vandalism occurred on April 6. The fire immediately spread over an area of about 700 square meters and caused severe damage to the graves and tombstones.
It should be mentioned that the Jewish cemetery in Harson has regularly suffered from acts of vandalism. The graves have been repeatedly covered with trash and the tombstones destroyed and desecrated. Members of the local Jewish community are making the connection between these acts of vandalism and antisemitism, the intention being to show contempt for members of the Jewish community during this important festival.
