USA - Man suspected of antisemitic attacks fired by IU
Mark Zacharias, The man accused of an anti-Semitic attack on the Indiana University campus has reportedly been fired by the university.
The Herald-Times in Bloomington reported that Mark Zacharias had been terminated by the school. Zacharias had been employed as a scholarship coordinator with the Hutton Honors College for the past seven years.
Zacharias, 54 of Ellettsville, faces a single charge of institutional vandalism for smashing a campus directory at Goodbody Hall, which houses IU's Jewish Studies program. There were four reports of vandalism against Jewish centers on the university's campus from November 23 through December 1. Campus police are not saying if Zacharias is a suspect in any of the other incidents.
Zacharias is free after posting a $500 bond last Friday.
