Kishinev - At the end of March, unknown perpetrators set on fire a Jewish cemetery in Kishinev,  as the local community made known.

The hooligans burnt two animal cubs in a necropolis (cemetery of the ancient city). The fire also caused damage to headstones. The police started investigating the case. Shortly before this incident, vandals had also cut down trees that grew at the Jewish cemetery, with the result that the trunks fell on the headstones and damaged those badly.

Last September, several headstones and memorial plates were damaged as a result of the deeds committed by vandals at the Jewish cemetery.

he Jewish community filed a complaint with the law enforcement authorities, but those were not able to track down the culprits.
